I am a green card holder and my husband is a US citizen . My husband is unemployed and I wanted to know if he can apply for unemployment without it not affecting my chances of becoming a citizen . He doesn’t want to because he says it might affect me when I go and apply to be a citizen since I’m his responsibility . Please help me with answers

I don’t know on what basis you are going to apply for citizenship( marriage or 5 year residency) but They will not deny you citizenship if your husband files for unemployment benefits. So many people now are affected by ????.

I believe you can use any kind of legal assistance by truth and you will not have any problem for citizenship.

you are not going to have any problem if you are applying for unemployment. many are confused that unemployment may affect their status, but that is not the case since unemployment is a benefit that everyone pays, It is just an insurance that is deducted from your taxes and found on line 14 in your W2. therefore you should be fine to apply.

Unemployment is a benefit that employers pay into.
It is not public charge. You should be good.

It seems like there might be some missing information in your message, but I'll try to provide a general understanding based on what I can gather.😉Regarding your mention of unemployment benefits and its potential impact on citizenship applications, it's important to note that different countries have different rules and considerations. In some cases, receiving unemployment benefits might not automatically disqualify someone from obtaining citizenship, especially if the situation is temporary and there are valid reasons for the unemployment. However, specifics can vary greatly, so it's advisable to consult the immigration authorities or legal professionals in the relevant country for accurate and up-to-date information.
