  • Naturalization - Interview and impending Travel plan

    Hello Guys,
I saw a few similar helpful threads on the forum. We have interview date scheduled for July 8th, 2010 and have plans to visit India starting 18th July 2010.

How likely it is we get the interview and oath done on same day? Would they agree to postpone the Oath part of the process? Did it ever happen to anyone ? I am hoping to get the interview part done on July 8th as schedule and have Oath done when we are back in late August. Is this possible and ok to do so?

This is in Norfolk,Va office. Could someone respond and provide useful info?

    Appreciate all the help.
    Thanks.

        Hello

I had my oath 5 days after my interview, at the interview I recived a paper with the oath date and on the back of the page you have to mark "yes or no" to answer all the questions, one of them is asking if after the interview and before oath you left the country??? becouse my oath was only five days after and also everybody that was interviewed at the same day none of us had left the country, so I don't no if mean something to them leave the country between interview and oath, but one thing I know, they don't like to change dates after they schedule it!!!!!!!
Good luck, and my advise, is take care this first, you will have the rest of your life to travel as an AMERICAN and never came back or whatever, but finish first what you started.
