Were you EVER a worker, volunteer, [or] soldier, or did you otherwise EVER serve in any of the following:

A. Prison or jail?
B. Prison camp?
C. Detection facility (a place where people are forced to stay)?
D. Labor camp (a place where people are forced to work)?
E. Any other place where people were forced to stay?

My question is: Does this question pertain to someone actually working (employed) or volunteering in any capacity in one of these places referenced above [or] does this question pertain to someone that actually served/did time in prison for a crime?

Someone just mentioned that this question pertains to someone actually serving time at one of the facilities mentioned as a result of a crime and not pertaining to actual volunteering or actual place of employment there.

For whoever is reading this, please know that I personally spoke to an Immigration Officer and asked the Officer about the above specific question and the Officer mentioned it only relates to someone working or volunteering at a prison, detention center or any of the other places mentioned. NOT related to someone actually serving time at one of these places for a criminal conviction or crime.
