surrendering Indian passport

I dont have much time between my oath date and my trip to India . Can I surrender my Indian passport after I come back from India (within 90 days)

If you will be a U.S. citizen when you take your trip, you will need a U.S. passport and can not use the Indian passport to travel once you are a U.S. citizen.

If US citizen-->need visa. To get visa-->need surrender certificate.
