Travel to India after citizenship

Hi All,

This group helped me a lot during my US Citizenship. Now we are US citizens. We didn't renunciation our Indian passports as all you know it is taking lot time to get OCI card. Can we still travel to India using Indian passport if there is urgent arrives as we do know when we need to visit.

Please can someone suggest your opinions and if anyone tried this.

If you have a US passport, you cannot travel on an Indian passport. If you do, there are fines to pay when renouncing the indian citizenship.
If you have not yet applied for a US passport, you can use the Indian passport to travel. Be advised, you cannot return to the US by showing your naturalization certificate (most carriers will not board you for your return flight).

While I hope you don't have an "urgent" issue, should the need arise, I would get an emergency appointment at the US passport agency and get the same day or next day passport.
