Can I leave out of country after filing N400

I making plans to apply Citizenship for my wife and I soon. However my main concern is there is a slight chance of me leaving to my native country after i have filed my N-400 with USCIS. Will this be a problem ?

You can. No problem. Just make sure you that you are here in the US at the time of fingerprinting, interview and oath.

At the time of interview will the absence from filing of N-400 to interview be counted. Or is it that the number of days one is absent from US is calculated only based on filing of N-400.
