Hey Y'all. Hope all is doing well. I have a situation, that could use some advice. I came in the US 7 years ago but didn't get a green card till 3 years later. My 5 year mark as a resident will be in September 2021, but as far as I know I can start the naturalization 90 days prior to that. My fiancé is in another country and I would like to apply to go and be with her, but I am not really sure how long it will take to get my citizenship. Can I travel back and forth without jeopardizing my status as a resident . Any advice would be appreciated.

As long as you have a valid green card (not expired), you can travel abroad while your natz case is pending. But you must be in the US for biometrics and the interview.
Key is whether you have US residence and whether you have been physically in the US for enough time (2.5 years for you).2/20: Received at Chicago lockbox
4/04: We reviewed your biometrics and are processing your case (I-765 & I-485)
4/18: Ready to be scheduled for an interview (No notification, not updated on either site until Aug 27)
4/19: Request to expedite EAD
5/11: Received EAD
6/26: Applied for Advance Parole
8/09: Advance Parole approved
8/29: Scheduled for Interview
10/11: Interview
10/12: RFE on I-130 (misplaced G28)
10/16: Sent new G28
10/19: Approved!

Thank you for the reply. And the answer to your question is yes. I have been a resident for little over 4.5 years. During this time I have traveled abroad for a 3 day family emergency. Other than that I have been physically present here. Thank you again for the reply.
