  • Frustrated: N-400 application filed in March 2020 and silence since then...

Almost one year has now passed and nothing is happening. Can't reach USCIS by phone, can't fill the "Outside of normal processing time form". Please help.

    1. Case completion time after having filed: "Jan 2021"
    2. Case completion time changes to: "Dec 2020" in November 2020 - I was so happy!
    3. Case completion time: disappears from my profile.

What do we do in such case other than sinking into despair?
Is it even possible to get a processing time for an "IOE" form?

Thank you. Any help would be appreciated.

MOHCTP - During this unprecedented times of the pandemic, everything has been delayed. Given the times of Covid crisis in US where hundreds of thousands are falling sick with Covid every single day and few thousands are dying everyday, you should have some patience and be thankful that you are safe, healthy and doing well. Hang in there and you should be fine.

Something is not right. I applied in March 2020, just before Covid hit. My FO is Oakland Park, FL. My biometrics were waived at the end of September; Interview was scheduled for November 9, 2020, but was rescheduled due to the FO being closed due to a tropical storm. Interview was rescheduled for January 4, 2021; I was approved on the spot and immediately given an appointment for my Oath Ceremony to be held on January 8, 2021. Oath Ceremony was only 20 people and was held at the FO, and was over in 20 minutes.

MOHCTP you didn't mention which field office your case falls under. Processing times vary wildly based on your FO. For ex: SF, Seattle, Houston have a huge waitlist and cases take about 18 months for interview, while others like Tucson, AZ and Charleston, NC take about 6 months to interview.

I believe your case is still within the normal processing time for your FO. Check it here https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/
So, there is nothing to do but wait.

If your case exceeds the normal waiting time for your FO, then you can raise an inquiry by filling the "Outside of normal processing time" form.

Everything depends on where you live. For example, I live in NC and processing times there are not too long. If you compare to NY, FL, or TX, processing times range from 18 to 30 months! Also, depends on officer, I think. Some are slower than others. I understand your frustration. I’ve been there.

              Hi guys,

Thank you all for your answers.
Here is my next question: how do I find out what field office is processing my case?
I filed online and my receipt number is: IOE-------- so I am not sure how to even find the field office responsible for my case.
FWIW, I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and I assume that my green card was processed in the San Jose, CA field office.

              The N-400 receipt came from:

National Benefits Center U. S. CITIZENSHIP & IMMIGRATION SVC P.O. BOX 25920 Overland Park KS 66225

This is all the info I got.

Any help is hugely appreciated. It is tough being alone in this.

              Thanks all.

Thanks so much guys. You've been a huge help. My field office seems to be processing cases from Sep 2019 and mine is from March 2020. Seems like I have to wait for additional 6 months or so.
