  • N-400 submitted, but living in different state

Hi, I was wondering if someone is able to give me advice on this.

I live and work in Sacramento, filed for my N-400 there as well. However, since we are working from home I decided to go “home” where my family are which is in Washington and I’ve been here for 3 months (will be staying until Spring) but still paying rent, etc in Sacramento. I filed in July but have not heard back, and I know Washington is processing at a faster rate than NorCal, would I be able to change the address to my parent’s home address in Washington? Will I need to show proof?

    Thank you!

swimsie After filing, you can change address as many times as you move. There are no restrictions after filing. Address change doesn't need proof. May be only at the time of interview, they might want an ID that has the same address as on file with USCIS.
