  • N400 - Decision Cannot be Made due to Expired Finger Prints

I applied for my citizenship in Dec 2019 and my interview was scheduled on June 4th 2021(after approx. 17months). My interview went ok. I passed the civic and English test, but the IO couldn't make the decision on spot. I was told that my finger print and name checks have probably expired(they are only valid for 15months) and they have to re-run them. I was assured it isn't a big deal, rather just a routine system re-sync.

While I am assuming this is not a common scenario, but was wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue and how it eventually panned out.

    Thoughts/suggests will be greatly appreciated!

This means once the fingerprint results come back as "all clear", your application will be approved.
You will then receive an oath letter
