  • How to answer civics test questions

I am studying for my naturalization test and the practice questions offer several bullet points for some questions. Some of those answers are repetitive like:

What did the Declaration of Independence do?
Announced our independence (from Great Britain)
Declared our independence (from Great Britain)
Said the United States is free (from Great Britain)

And some of the answers are not repetitive like:

    What does the Constitution do?
    sets up the government
    defines the government
    protects basic rights of Americans

    And also like:

What does the judicial branch do?
    reviews laws
    explains laws
    resolves disputes (disagreements)
decides if a law goes against the Constitution

When we answer, are we supposed to give one of those bullet points or all bullet points?

Yes I agree with the other responses. Choose the answer choice that will be easy for you to recall. You may practice along with ESSA group on Youtube found here

You may also review this cheat sheet from USCIS that will give you an idea on the words to be included on the writing test. writing_vocab.pdf (uscis.gov)
