I have a temporary green card and my wife and I have been married since march 8th of 2008. My green card expires on jan 6 2011

my interview agent said that I could apply for citizenship instead of applying for a permanent green card

however, according to few things that I have read about eligibility for citizenship I would not be able to apply for it

I am not sure what can I do. Has any one been in the same situation?

Did you have a 2 year card?

It sounds like you got a Conditional status. Is your code CR1 or CR6 or C???

If it is ,did you file your I-751 to lift your conditions? If you did or do, and it gets approved, you will get a new ten year card.

If you fail to file the I-751 or if it gets denied you will be sent before an immigration judge and can plead your case.
