  • N-400 Form mistake

Hi everyone! I submitted my n-400 form 13 months ago, and recently USCIS scheduled my interview date/time. I was reviewing my N-400 form and I realized that there is a mistake in my form. In the part Information About Your Marital History, even though I chose "single, never married," somehow 2-4 questions later (which are empty because they are non-applicable), it shows that I clicked on "yes" for the question, "Is your current spouse a U.S. citizen?" Also, it seems like I clicked on "At birth" to the question "When did your current spouse become a U.S. citizen?"

The problem is, I don't remember doing this mistake because I was never married. And I don't think I clicked on it unintentionally because why would I click on/answer two questions by mistake. I have no idea how it happened. Some videos on youtube mention that the systems may have glitches if you filed it online. So my question is, has anyone had this issue? Also, what would you suggest I do? Should I call the USCIS help center or wait until my interview to mention this issue during the interview? Or never mention it at all?

    Hi,
Providing false information to USCIS will make severe problem. Since you quoted that it is by mistake, When you have interview, you may inform them about this mistakes. But, I am not sure, it can be accepted by them.
On another hand, you may call customer support and share the same and get the help.
But I am sure, you can not hide this from them. In certain situation, you will have to reveal or they may raise the question about this.
    All the best.
    Thanks

Don't hide it from USCIS, that's bad form, they look on this extremely negatively, it's not worth it. If it's a simple mistake then in the interview you can address it with them, they are able to change your responses to certain questions during the interview.

Whether or not that affects your eligibility I don't know as I don't know your circumstances.
