  • No response about re-scheduled oath ceremony

    Hi all,
I have the oath ceremony scheduled for Friday this week, but I can't make it because I'll be leaving for my trip abroad on Thursday. This trip was scheduled long ago and I cannot miss it. I mailed the request to reschedule last week and USPS shows it was delivered, but there's still no response from the USCIS, no status update.
I am worried that they're not processing my request, which is why there's no status update, and it will look like I just missed my ceremony when I don't show up on Friday.
    What will happen next?

I do not know your situation and reason for your trip abroad, and don't feel obligated to share.

The oath ceremony is so, so important and to miss it is very risky, because you do not know how long it will take to be rescheduled - it might be for a couple months later, it could be longer. You are within your right to request a reschedule of course and if this is the first time, you will probably just get rescheduled.

Hi, are you still active here? Did you have to reschedule your oath ceremony or took it as originally scheduled? I have a need to re-schedule oath ceremony and looking to see if anyone else has had same experience and want to know how things went and how much delay it caused.
