  • Naturalization approved. Newark, NJ

Just wanted to share my experience with those who wait. I submitted my application on Jan 24th 2021. My interview was scheduled for Dec 13th. I got a super relaxed officer, we were joking from the beginning. He just asked for standard info: name, address, date of birth, if I want to change my name, yes/no questions. I said I needed to add two more dates of traveling. He actually had all that info on his computer and didn’t even ask me for specific dates. He didn’t really ask any details or any documents. My citizenship was based on 3 years/marriage to the US citizen. The only thing he asked to see was the payment plan from IRS as we owe some taxes. He included that in my paperwork.
Civic test questions: who did the US fight in WWII, what happened at the Constitutional Convention, what ocean is on the West Coast, who signs bills to become laws, what is the amendment, how many US senators.
The sentence to write : Lincoln was President during the Civil War.
The sentence to read it was something like: who was Abraham Lincoln or similar. Can’t remember.

He asked me what I do for work and what my husband does for work. Though I think he only asked about his job because I said the unpaid taxes are from his self-employment.
Then he said he wants to get me in for the same day oath ceremony. My appointment was at 2.15pm, he called me in probably like 2.30ish and we were done by 2.55pm. The cut off for the oath was 3pm that day, so he said he would go with my upstairs to hand my paperwork and make sure they include me in the ceremony. He was super nice. We went to the 15th floor and I waited maybe like 15min for the ceremony. The ceremony was like 10min.
You have to wear a mask from the moment you enter the building till you leave. Can’t even take a mask off for pictures. No guests are allowed for the ceremony.

    Good luck to you all!!!
