Leaving usa after filing N400

Hi my husband is planning to leave the usa for a short trip to visit his parents ..he already filed his N400 and did the biometrics.
is he allowed to do a trip outside the USA?will he be in trouble if he did?
He did not get his letter for the interview.

It should be fine! I filed in September and went back to the UK for this Christmas. I have my interview this Thursday. As long as he doesnt spend more than the set amount of time outside the USA I think he is fine!

Don't worry, before interview you can travel outside of USA. But you can't leave US after interview.

He needs to spend the majority of the time between filing and interview in the USA.
