  • passed citizenship interview, but problem with address

I'm helping a friend with this N-400 issue. Maybe someone here can give us some tips.

My friend is a resident of New Jersey, but for many years she has a live-in job taking care of an old person in Brooklyn, New York.

She applied for US citizenship in September with her NJ address.
She just had an interview last week and she passed the civics test.

The officer looked at her last 5 years of tax returns out of which the 3 most recent years were filed in New York, and the 2 years prior were filed from New Jersey.

My friend's accountant made this mistake even though she explained her that she lives in New Jersey, and only works in New York. She told the accountant that the mailing address is New York, because she spends 6 days there working anyways, it's better if the letters go there, instead of going to New Jersey.

Now the officer at the citizenship interview saw that the tax returns were from New York, and now they are asking for proof of address from New Jersey. They want her to show that before filing for citizenship in September, she lived in New Jersey for at least 3 months.

My friend changed the mailing address of a lot of her bills to the address of her live-in job in New York, in order to receive the letters there instead of New Jersey.

Now we uploaded to USCIS some expired ID cards, driver licenses that show NJ addresses. And she had bank statements from 1-2 years ago that were still on the NJ address. And also her current car insurance and registration papers with the NJ address.

They are now requesting us to upload the last 5 years of tax returns. That will clearly show that the last 3 years were filed in New York.

    What should we do?
Is she gonna be denied of the Citizenship even though she passed the civics test?
Will she have to file N400 all over again from New York?
