  • n400 citizenship timeline

hello friends, this site was helpful and comforting in my immigrant journey through the system. i thought I'd share my timeline and experience for the Miami office.

    2/20/22 N400 filed online
    3/02/22 interview scheduled
    4/14/22 N400 interview/approved
    4/21/22 oath ceremony

additional notes - interviewer was very friendly and professional not too many questions and didnt try to trip me up. missed one question on the oral test. my interview was in the afternoon; he literally said had it been in the morning I would have taken the oath the same day.

I filed after 5 years instead of 3, although I'm still married to my spouse (now 7 years).

my entire experience was very good and not nerve wrecking as we usually expect these things to go. i took my time and made applications on time and even longer after the recommended interval for example - i485 a year after actual marriage, n400 at 5year instead of 3.

I made sure my paperwork/life was/is intermingled with my wife comprehensively joint bank accounts, leases, car insurance, car title, business co-owned.

    good luck to you all

Congratulations! That was quick. I have a questions.

    1. Did you hire an Immigration lawyer or you file by yourself?
    2. Did you submitted it original copies or photocopies?
    3. How many years you are married before you apply for citizenship?
    4. Did you bring your tax transcript? How many years?

Thanks so much for you answer and help. Have a blessed day!
