  • When to expect a response?

I mailed out my N 400 packet and it was received on 11/02/2010.

Till what time frame should I expect the cash to be encashed and an application number mailed to me.(it was mailed out to Texas office )

Just trying to hold the reins over the process.
    Any responses would be appreciated.

Did you apply 90 days before 5 year or after completing 5 year. My application was received yesterday (11/08). Keep posted any development.

I applied after 5 yrs. If you apply 90 days before still the process time is the same. Since the process time is between 3 to 4 months in Texas, you will be fine. My friend was short a week before the 5 yrs, and the officer told him he is approved but he will recieve the oath letter in less than a month.
most likely you will pass the 5 yrs requirment by your interview date, so dont worry

RFE --Is it Fingerprinting or what?

I checked by status online and as of 11/09/2010 it says a notice requiring further evidence has been sent out.

Have received nothing as of now being Veteran's day.
Is that normal ,or what could it be?

              Seeking inputs.

I saw the same thing online. i was confused too. it is your finger appointment letter that is either already mailed out or will be mailed to you very soon. evidence=fingerprint letter

for me it took 45 min for my friend 1hr 30 min...getting there 30 min early wont bother them, but yours is 8 am. i dont know what time they open...take your geen card plz

have u had any trip over 6 months within last five years?
just in case i miss your posts here, make sure plz u take ur social security card, rentry permit if u had one before, to the interview, even if it doesnt say in the document list that they ask u to bring to the interview (u will recieve the document list letter with the interview date letter) . they asked my friend for those at the interview.

if u dont have any trip over 6 months all u need to take are passport, green card, social security card, photos, driver license.

                          Thanks for your post jojoo

I took a note of all things to carry with me.I'll make sure to be there early 45 mins early won't hurt me either.

I did not have any trips in the past one and half year .

Hey what interview have you mentioned in your message below.
Kindly clarify. In my understanding its just fingerprinting ,is there a one to one interview or a certain question aire that I might have to answer or fill out.

                          I'll keep the forum updated.

when u go for fingerprint they wont ask u any question. this is not an interview just take green card and fingerprint letter with u.

the interview i am talking about is the only one that all applicant have at the end of the procees and they take english and history test and hopefully if u pass u become a us citizen. there is no any other interviews.

by the way u said u havent had any trip sine yr/half ago. the point is if u have any trip that last over 6 months within the last five or 3 yrs if u are applying through marriage, then
they require some more documents at the interview date. so not how long ago u had a trip!!!!!how long the trip that u took lasted ( over 6 months or not).

let me know plz if u had any trip like that and i will let u know what to do.

also u can search on the net just type N-659 Naturalization and u will see the interview document check list that explain what u need to take with u to the interview (not fingerprint appoinment) with u espeically if u are applying through marriage or had trips that last over 6 months within the last 5 yrs or 3 yrs if u applying through marriage. if u couldnt find it online i can email it to u. good luck

                              Paperwork fingerprinting and afterwards

Jojoo your guidance is really keeping me going.

I got the clarity for Fingerprinting.I have the documents listed on the letter in place for the day of fingerprinting.

I have a list of questions History/Civics question-aire ,thanks for bringing that up.

I had no trip longer than 49 days ,that too to India (home country). That's it.Rest of the trips were less than 30 days.

I'll download the checklist in a while .Thanks.

If need arises would it be ok,if i can email you questions (if they arise and if it's not too much time taking for you) about paperwork needed for prior marriage and the divorce.I'm just ensuring I have a person to whom I can ask my queries

Please don't feel obligated to help me off the board.Your help here is worthy of everything.

                              Thanks again.
