  • Senior in GC & applying for citizenship

    Hi
This is for a friend :

Any idea when a senior above 80 can apply for citizenship. Is the 5yr rule expected still.

    1. Mar 2019 GC - Can it only be applied Dec 2023 or can it be applied earlier?
    2. Should he reside in the US when he applies or can visit home country and still be able to apply?

    3. How soon can he expect the citizenship, does the age have a bearing on the timeframe ?
    4. How soon can he apply for his daughter who is 45yrs old & how long will it take for her to get GC? Would he be able to apply for his daughter & son-in-law?

Sorry for the many questions and thank you for the time
    Best

    0. 5 year rule applies.

    1. Dec 2923
    2. Has to be residing in a single state for 3 months.
    3. These days 3-4 months.
    4. As soon as he becomes a citizen. Son in law is a derivative so yes.
