Citizenship - cons?

Hi All,

I have a GC and I am eligible to apply for US Citizenship. My kids have US passport. I have plans to return to India. Would it make sense for me to get a US citizenship before leaving to India? My thought is if for any reason I need to return back to US, I atleast don’t have to go through the Visa hassles all over again. My spouse does not want to give up her Indian passport. Can one of us retain Indian citizenship and other have a US citizenship?
Besides tax related problems (paying US and Indian taxes being as a US Citizen in India), do you anticipate any other issues living in India as a US citizen? Do you recommend any immigration lawyers that I can consult with?

Why does she want to keep Indian citizenship?

Nothing prevents one from being a U.S. citizen and the other not. Couples are not naturalized together.
