  • Long wait for oath ceremony letter

It has been almost 10 weeks (over 2 months) since my N-400 interview now, and still no oath ceremony letter. My case is stuck on "Oath Ceremony will be scheduled" since I was approved on the day of my interview. I have been reaching out to USCIS for any updates, but they said there should be an update within 120 days, and if I do not hear from them I will give them a callback again. I also live in central Illinois (Peoria), and field office is St Louis Missouri, so I have heard that it will be a judicial ceremony, meaning it will be presided by a judge in the city I live. I called the court to check if there is any oath ceremony scheduled in my area, and they said nothing has been scheduled yet. Has anyone had the same experience as I did? I am not sure how often they hold judicial ceremonies here in Peoria, but based on the videos that I have seen online, it looks like they are just in September. I hope I am wrong, because that would be waiting for 10 months after the interview to take the oath! That would be ridiculous! Waiting for months sounds so unreasonable, especially after you drove 3 hours back and forth down to your local USCIS office for the interview and having to wait months again to take the oath.

    Is there a name change?

I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing a long wait for your oath ceremony letter. Unfortunately, wait times for oath ceremonies can vary depending on the backlog and workload of USCIS and the courts.
Based on the information you provided, it seems like you have already taken the necessary steps by contacting USCIS and the court to inquire about any updates on your case. If they have told you that there should be an update within 120 days, it might be best to wait for that time frame before reaching out again.
In the meantime, you can continue to monitor your case status online through the USCIS website and also sign up for automatic case status updates via email or text message. This way, you will receive any updates on your case as soon as they become available.
If you continue to experience delays, you may want to consider contacting an immigration attorney who can help you navigate the process and advocate for your case.
