Hi all,
I prepared a spreadsheet with my case, I don't know if it's possible for me to apply for naturalization. My situation (I think) is very curious: I was studying in Brazil before I gained permanent residence in 2004. I was granted with a re-entry permit that I never used in my return trips. I always entered U.S. with my green card, also on those three times that I was out U.S. for more than 6 months.
I know that I "disrupted my continuous residence" on those three times. My doubts are:
- Is 2004 considered the year when my permanent residence started? In this case I already met the requirement of 5 years or more of residence?
- When can I apply for naturalization?
I hope the spreadsheet is clear enough.
Thank you for any advice.
Best,
Juan
