  • Advise please...Filing citizenship but driver's license from diffrent state.!!

    Hi

I am in oregon state since last 3 years but my driver's license is from florida. I stayed in florida for only 1 month but I got my license in that period. After that we move to oregon for our ( me & wife) job. She changed her license 6 months ago due to her license exp. But we are not going to stay in oregon any longer for sure.

    Question: -
    1. Do I required to have oregon license @ the time of FP & Interview?
    2. Is there any chances of my application can be denied or delayed for this reason?
    3. Will it be issue for Jurisdiction ?

O'wise I have all my Pay stub, Bank papers, lease, Utility bills, Tax papers etc of last 2 years from oregon, which can easly prove my presence here.

I am filing on the basis of my marriage for 3 years.

Please help me to clear my confusion

    Thanks

    Hello !!

I think nobody is clear about driver's license requirement and i didn't get any suggetion for that but I did some survey on my own and I came to the conclusion that I should take the license of the state where I live right now.

Its not mendetory but I think its safe to do for avoiding any delay or denial

    Regards,

      Regards,
Well, thumbrule to apply for citizenship is...you need to apply in that state where you have maintained the residence for few months. So, in ur case, you have to apply from OR.
Per drivier's license, even though there is no such rule that you need to have that particular state's license from where u r applying for citizenship, still they might hold your case because every state has a law that you need to change the driver's license to that particular state if you stay there for more than 3months. So, best option is to change the license & then apply for citizenship.

PS:- this is just my opinion, I could be wrong.
