Continuous Residence Requirement

Hello all,

Can someone explain how they calculate the Continuous Residence Requirement for citizenship? Are the 6 months calculated as the total for the five years if applying as a family green card holder or is it 6 months for each year of those 5 years?

Neither. It's for each absence. An absence of between 6 months and 1 year is presumed to interrupt continuous residence, but this can be overcome with strong evidence. An absence of more than 1 year definitely interrupts continuous residence.
