can i work in another state while n-400 in process

Hi guys,
i applied for citizenship on Nov 2010, Finger print done on 8th December 2010& waiting for interview letter, Sad news is i got laid off from work,
but good news is i got a job offer from another state, which is like 90 miles from my current reseident, i dont want to interrupt my n-400 processing or change my address or change DL, can i just work in that state from Mon to Fri and come home on weekends, please guys help me out, need a good advice from all members,

When you go for your interview i wouldnt tell them i moved or got a job out of state that will just delay your app and they might send it to another office, thats what happened to me, which delayed me a month or two! I think the best thing to do in my opinion is to not disrupt the process and try to make it go by without any delays.

As long as you do not give up your primary residence in your current state, I think you should be fine working in another state. I did it a while ago, but I had no pending cases with USCIS at that time. To be 100% sure, you might want to double-check with a lawyer.

My primary residence is Ohio. I was working in NJ when I applied for citizenship, claiming Ohio as my residence.( home,license, etc all Ohio) I traveled home once a month. I was denied my citizenship and told to file through NJ as the FEDERAL government considers where you are living the majority of the time as your domicile. I think in your case you would be okay as you are comming home on weekends, but I would commute daily until the citizenship is approved. ALSO save all receipts to prove you are coming home ,gas, tolls, etc. Good Luck.
