Arrest no conviction

Hello,
Is it safe for me to file N-400 to become a US citizen with only an arrest with assault with a deadly weapon? I never got charged or convicted. This happened 7 years ago.

I just renew my GC early this year.

You can fill assuming that you don’t not have anything else. The law says 5 years of good moral character. But be prepared to provide police report, and court paper. I have been waiting for a final decision for 8 months because I had an arrest without conviction too. They ve been waiting for background checks from the FBI.
