  • Just about to start the process

    Hi guys
Next week marks 90 days before my 3rd anniversary of getting my marriage green card. I’ll be submitting my N-400 straight away. I know the current timeframe is 5 months-ish but with a change in administration in Jan do you think it’ll all slow up or will my case be advanced enough before the proposed crack down will take affect?
Background- I’m British married to USC.
    Thanks!

Make sure to count 90 days correctly; 3 months is not the same as 90 days.

Most of the requirements for naturalization are set in statute, and not up to the administration to change. They could change things like the tests, but that usually takes time for proposal and comments, and any changes will likely not apply to applications that are already filed. There is never a guarantee on how fast they will adjudicate applications.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.

Thank you. Yeah I’ll make sure to count the days correctly. I just want to get it in as soon as I can so that it’s advanced enough in case an executive order or something happens.

Did you file yet? You can start the application process electronically, and the system will automatically calculate and show you your eligibility date as you fill in the form. I had mine ready and only needed to click submit and pay on the day of.

Hi, yes I filed it online yesterday. It says estimated time for case decision is 4 months!
