We are going to apply for naturalization for our relative. They have been partially living here on green card since 2018 in their own home.
Because of covid in 2020 and then a health issue last year, their time spent in US in the last 5 years from today is only 904 days. From what I understand limit is 913 days and there are few exceptions to that rule unlike 6 month one.
Does that mean we shouldn't bother applying at all until they can fulfill 913 days in the last 5 years from application date? Unfortunately their earliest departure from US was July 2020 so the number of days in US in the 5 year window won't change till then.
