  • Inquiry Regarding Eligibility for U.S. Citizenship Based on Travel History

    Hi Team,
I became a Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR) of the United States on April 8, 2019, as indicated by my Green Card.

I left and returned to the U.S. on the following dates:
Left the U.S. Returned to the U.S. Country Visited
    May 27, 2019 August 30, 2019 Canada
    October 1, 2021 June 9, 2022 Canada
    August 22, 2022 June 13, 2023 India
    June 30, 2024 July 6, 2024 Canada
Can someone assist me in determining if I am eligible to apply for U.S. citizenship based on the information provided?

personally for the most stress free route i would consider eligibility timeline reset when you returned from India in June 2023 and used that as my new starting point.

    During this period
    October 1, 2021 June 9, 2022 Canada
    August 22, 2022 June 13, 2023 India

you were out of the US for 18 out of 20 month period and personally i'm not sure that you would pass the continuous residence requirement for citizenship. As shown from their website

"Extended absences outside of the U.S. may disrupt an applicant’s continuous residence."
As each absence was less than 12 months you might be able to prove that you did not abandon residence but you would need to provide plenty of evidence that you life was still based in the US.

This would no doubt be a way more stressful experience.

    Hope this helps
