    I've been a permanent resident (green-card holder) for 9 years, and married to a US born citizen for 6 years. I'm about to apply for naturalization and have a quick question...

    On the Document Checklist accompanying the N-400 application it says...
    If you are applying for naturalization on the basis of marriage to a U.S. citizen, send the following 4 items:
    ...
    I'm not necessarily applying "on the basis of marriage", but I'm wondering if I should provide those items anyway. Are applications based on marriage looked upon more favorably ?

    Do not think that there is a bias, but you need to provide more documents with the marriage-based application. I think in either case you are fine.
