  • In the event of US Government Shutdown

It's becoming more and more likely that Congress will not be able to pass a "continuing resolution" on the budget and this will result in a government shutdown as early as late next week. My suspicion is that this will mean a suspension of all Citizenship application processing, as well as interviews/exams, fingerprint processing, FBI background checks etc. This could knock everyone's applications back weeks if not months. Anyone on this forum in a position to confirm or deny the effects of a "government shutdown"? Anyone remember what happened in 1995/1996 when this happened last?

Reading the news, the last time this happened in 1995/1996 it affected US Passport and Visa applications. So unfortunately there is a likelihood that USCIS operations will be affected if a shutdown happens.
