  • Naturalization + Physical presence

    Hello, everyone!

I have a question about the Naturalization.

I was married in 2004 to a US citizen, and I've applied for Green card on 2005 and got it on 2008.

Lived in US from 2004 to 2007, and then my wife and I started working overseas but keep coming back to US every few months (before 6 months) for family visits and such.

I want to apply for the Naturalization through marriage now.

I saw the naturalization eligibility requirements on this site thttps://www.immihelp.com/us-naturalization-eligibility/

I meet all the requirements, but not sure about "Physical presence in the USA requirement", in my case it requires 18 months of physical presence. So the question is:

    - Does the continuous physical presence count from the time I received the green card (2008) or from the time I got married+working+living in US in 2004 or from the time I applied in 2005?

    - It will be great if you guys have some advice on how to deal with this...

    Thanks

As far as I know, it starts when you got your green card (i.e., the date you became a permanent resident).
