  • Re-applying for Citizenship after denial in 2002

I first applied for US Citizenship back in 1999 and my case lasted almost 18 months. I was denied in 2002 due to lack of good moral. I failed to disclose that I was arrested for one day (arguing with ex-gf and she called cops on me - back in 1994) even though I had cerifed court documents showing that no papered. The denial letter received stated that I may be eligible 4 to 5 years from 2002.

I came here as refugee in 1992 and decided to enlist in the US Army. After being active in the US Army for a year and half, I began having depressions, etc. I went AWOL for 4 months without leaving the USA. I turned myself in to my military post and got discharged with OTH (Other Than Honorable) in lieu of court martial. While I was gone during AWOL, some charges were filed against me to me about bounced checks (since the bank was in the military base), but no papered & no charges were pressed.

I have been LPR since I arrived here in 1992 and married to the US born-Citizen since 1997. We have 3 kids and still both live together. I am now looking to re-apply. I went to the USCIS office to find out if I am eligible to reappy and she said YES.

Since I left the US Army and was denied Citizenship, I went to school (University) and graduated in engineering. I have not been in trouble again since I went AWOL in 1996. I even do not have any tickets or any moving violations. So, I have beeb clean since 1996.

    Here are my questions:
    1. What are my chances of being GRANTED Citizenship, if decided to reapply?
    2. As previous military service member, do I need to submit G-325 form (DoD Military Background checks), even though I am no longer in the military? The same form was submitted when I first applied for citizenship in 2000.

All your feedbacks are much appreciated.

    Thanks.
