  • Oath Ceremony site

Hi, I will going to my interview for naturalization on Apr 4th. My local office is St Albans, Vermont. I dont see anyone else in the forums from VT. My question is - how is it determined where your oath ceremony will be. some people talk about it being right at the end of the interview and others have these public ceremonies that are broadcast on radio and TV.

Would love to get some help with that.

    St. Albans

Also wish I knew. My husband has his interview in St. Albans tomorrow and we'd like our daughter to be there if he is sworn in as a citizen. Looks like we'll take her out of school just to be sure. I'll let you know what happens

      St. Albans

      Hi-
My husband had his naturalization interview in St Albans today. We arrived about a half hour early and they took him right away. The interview/civics test took 15 minutes. He was exempt from the English exam because of his age, but his English is pretty perfect. He easily passed. He was not sworn in. There will be a swearing in ceremony on May 11th at noon at the Neshobe School in Brandon. (I'm fine with this- gives us time to plan a celebration.) The staff in St. Albans is great- my husband describes them as "friendly and polite". After going though security, which took 5 minutes or less, we spent 21 minutes there. All in all a very positive experience. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Thank you so much. Great to know. I wonder if it matters which part of vermont you are from. I'm in the Burlington area.

          pretty much the same experience

I had a very nice interview experience. It took less than a half hour from walking in the door to walking out. Smooth. Oath could not be administered at USCIS. I was given form N445 and am scheduled to arrive for oath on May 11th... coincidentally... my birthday as well.
