citizenship / green card renewal

Hello:
My current green card expires in Oct 2011. I am trying to decide whether to renew my Green card or apply for Citizenship?

My husband applied and got his citizenship Nov 2010. I did not apply along with him since I didn't have time to prepare both our application at that time.

I have a misdemeanor that was reduced to infraction in Jan 2007. My husband and I got our Green cards in Sept 2001.

Do I have enough time to get my citizenship before green card expires? Processing times are less than 5 months in San Jose, CA. But given my misdemeanor reduced to infraction, not sure if the processing time will be longer.

If I apply for Citizenship and don't get it before my Green card expires, do I have to apply for Green card renewal while waiting for the Citizenship?

Keeping in mind the time it takes on an average for a USC process to complete i would suggest you renew your GC.A Green Card renewal application (Form I90) cannot be made more than six months in advance.
