  • Moving to India after starting the N-400..

I have a questions on timing and process of naturalization:

    - We will complete our 5 years of GC on 6/12/2011, so we are eligible to apply for USC now. we have nt been out of the counrty for more than 6 months for any visit

    - However, my wife has been in India for the last month and when we apply N-400, it'll be a week aftershe gets back. Does that impact our eligibility of continuous saty of 3 months before application?

    - We are also planning to move back to India for a 1 year stint for work after applying for USC. I'll likely be visiting the US every 3 months for a few days but my wife will likely be away for a year? We plan to go after bio-metrics and even our interview (if that happens in 1-2 months). Will traveling out hamper the USC process?

    - I have heard several couples prefer to take USC for one and leave the GC for the other. What is the advantge of doing that? Later on if the GC spouse wnats to convert to USC, it that a problem?

    - Being a USC in India, what impact does that have of current India bank accounts and property?

    thanks
