  • US citizen PIO Hoder

Hi All, I am new to this forum, and would like to ask one question, would highly appreciate your response for the same.

My daughter was born in US and currently holding PIO card. Now I am in india both me and my wife are indian citizen and holding indian passports. My daughter is 4 yrs old now.

I just need to understand, What kind of benefits my daughter can see in future ?

If my daughter stay in India and gets married in India, Will her husband or her kids (If they born in india)….. will get US entry/visa easily…… ?

As we have OCI funda, does US also have such things available for US origin kids (US origin but born in other country)

    Thanks in advance.

They will get US entry, but it will be a process. Children under 21 year old usually don't have problem. Also it is depend on what type of visa they ( husband and kids) are requiring: visitor, immigrant or what? For sure ,your daughter as long as she has her us birth certificate, and US passport, she can come to USA whenever she wants no visa require for her. I recommend also, if ever your daughter grows and has her kids, to automatically contact the consulate or embassy in your country to see if she can apply for benefits for her children where they are under age, which is easier than when they reach 21 ( needs visa process). Or the best thing when your daughter get pregnant, she can freely come home ( USA) to delivery her babies! For the husband if he wants to immigrate to USA, she has to file I-130, I-485 for him.

        Response to question

As a US citizen, your daughter is afforded the rights of any person born in the US, including the right to vote, work and live freely, anywhere in the USA. Her US citizenship will ease the immigration process for her spouse and children in the future. It will take time to process the documentation but it is available at this time.
I recommend that you obtain her US passport and register her residence with the US embassy in your country. I would make sure that she is always in ther records. Keep her birth certificate in a safe place and maintain copies just in case. Her passport will need to be renewed every 5 years wile she is a child but this will keep her US record current.

        Good luck!
