  • N-14, Original or Certified copy of 2005 W2 or Wage and Income Transcript

I was interviewed for citizenship last May 3, 2011. I passed the Civic and History test; however examiner gave me N-14. It says I need to submit my 2005 W2 from the company that petitioned me. I got my greencard Aug 2004 and I stayed with the petitioning company till June 2005. On the N400 application since it was only asking the last 5 years of employment I did not write down employment before 2006. The examiner said if I can't find my W2 I can request from IRS a Wage and Income Transcript. I noticed that on the N-14 documents must be original or certified copy. I wasn't able to find my original 2005 W2 but found a copy. I'm not sure what certified copy really means. At first I thought it was notarized but somone told me it doesnt mean notarized. I called my former company that petitioned me and asked if they have an original. They said they only have a copy as well. I asked if they can send me a copy and put a company seal and note down it is a certified true copy and sign it. They did that and sent me a company stamped and signed copy of W2. Is this ok? I also called IRS to request the 2005 Wage and Income Transcript. They faxed me this the same day but I was worried since it is a faxed copy that it might not be acceptable as certified copy. So I called again and asked for it be mailed. Does anyone know what certified copy really is? If I submit the company stamped signed W2 from my old company with the IRS Wage and Income transcript, do you think these will be sufficient enough. The examiner mentioned to me that they wasnt to see proof that I was still in that petitioning company in 2005 after i got my greencard. Is this a normal procedure. I'm worried. Does anybody know how long the process will take after I submit required docs from N-14?

    Thanks,
    JJ
