Proving U.S. Citizenship at American Embassy

I just thought of something that I believe might be helpful and easier. If your friend has his SSN, card or at least if someone remembers the number then you may check this website which is for New Mexico, I believe that is where he was born and try to request for a duplicate birth certificate, once you get that, then he may use that as proof of birth in the US and he is a US Citizen.

I think the OP already has an original or certified birth certificate from New Mexico. The embassy is asking for a second proof of identity, that is why he is in the process of applying for a Kenyan passport or national ID card.

Thanks for clarification, the article has took a while and i even forgot the issue of birth certificate, anyway I believe getting a Kenyan passport will not do any harm and since both countries accept dual nationalities, I guess there will be no problem.

The only issue now is to try to get himself a Kenyan passport or ID and I hope it will go well with him, wish him all the best.
