My mom is retired with no income and has next to zero savings. She applied and was denied last year because she overstayed (a few days more than 6 months) in one of her trips. She wants to reapply and would like to see if anyone has success or tips to get the fee waived or reduced?

Since she overstayed last time, chances of getting a fee waiver looks very bleak.
