Is an 8 month wait normal?

I had my fingerprints taken twice during my citizenship process, the first set failed due to FBI not being able to read my prints. The second set they took of mine was fine, since I didn't get another letter back saying they didn't fail again.

I go to the Oxnard, CA office whenever I get a letter, but it's been eight to nine months so far that I haven't been sent a letter for my interview. I took my prints around the 9-10th of April and the immigration office simply told me that I have to wait for my letter.. Well, I'm not sure if an eight month wait is normal and I'm not sure what I should do next.

Eight months is a little bit on the long side. I would suggest to call their 1-800 number and ask to speak to a 2nd-tier officer. They can give you more detailed info about your case.
