  • N400 processing time/green card expiry

Hi, I live in NJ and my green card will expire in 8 months:
1.) If I file today can N400 processing complete before green card expire?
2.) If there is any delay in N400 processing then can I file for green card renewal while N400 processing going on? Is there any conflict?
    Regards,

    Regards,
1.) If you have a straight-forward case, your N-400 process typically completes in 5 to 6 months. So most likely you'll be done before your GC expires.

2.) Even if your green card expires before your N400 is approved, you do not need to renew it if you do not have any international travel plans in the near future. If you need to travel, you can renew it while your N400 is pending. The two cases; i.e., your N400 application and your GC renewal, would be treated independently.

Thank you, nwctzn. Your information is absolutely correct. I confirmed same information from USCIS also.
