  • Name Change document

    Hello,

Recently, I became an U.S citizen and my last name was change during the Naturalization (Citizenship) process. USCIS provided the naturalization certificate with the new last name.

But for Indian OCI process, I require an official name change document with the old and new last names but I didn't receive any official document from USCIS other than the naturalization certificate. Wondering do I approach USCIS to obtain an official name change document?

    Any help/info is much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Your naturalization certificate is the proof of that name change. They should accept that.

You can't get any other document from USCIS about your name change.

Thanks for the reply. I already provided the Naturalization certificate along with a letter mentioning the name change during Naturalization process but Travisa Indian Outsourcing is mentioning that the OCI process requires a legal name change document with old and last names but I understand that USCIS process is not providing such a document. I tried explaining to the OCI process person but NO luck.
