Wait for interview? Reschedule? or travel between interview and oath ceremony?

My application was:
Received March 9th
Fingerprinted April 4th
Received my interview letter for May 14th.
I did request a name change and according to the USCIS website you have to go through a judicial oath for that. I need to do some travel in the summer during June or July, I called USCIS and they said that as long as I have my residency card and passport, it can be done. As long as I am back before the ceremony or am able to reschedule it. Also as long as I have met the physical presence requirements (30 months out of 5 years) which I have. They said rescheduling my interview will only delay the process but I won't have to pay again or get fingerprinted again. I don't know what to do, the travel is family related and rather important to me, but I don't want to screw this up with immigration. Any advice?

I would do the interview on the scheduled date. I saw from some trackers that rescheduling the interview can really mess up the process.

You can travel between the interview and oath if need be, there is no problem with that as long as you have someone check your mail while you are gone so that you do not miss any USCIS messages and your oath notice.

Also, once you return back from your trip, you need to indicate on the back of your oath notice that you traveled after the interview. It's a pretty simple process.
