  • N-400 Photo

I wanted to send my application this week. When approached Walgreens for two passport size photos, they suggested that I should be in non-white clothes. Since USCIS insists white/off-white background, Walgreens girl was of opinion that my white shirt will guarantee an automatic rejection of photo.

Is this the case? I anyway took the photo in white shirt, and I may go back to Walgreen in a blue shirt for another photo.....but I am curious to know if anyone heard about this issue.

    Thanks

Not heard of it but sounds reasonable since white shirt with white background might not provide enough contrast. I would just play it safe and take the photo with a different color shirt.

      Ridiculous

Nowhere does it state that you should not wear white clothes. I wore a white shirt and it went just fine. They are trying to get a clear picture of your face, not your body, so it really doesn't matter. Maybe if you had such pale white skin that your clothes, skin and background all merged it may remotely make sense, but otherwise, I highly doubt it will be an issue.

      Good Luck!
