  • N400 - file now or wait?

    Hello all,

I received my GC on 08/10/07 ... so I was eligible to file my N400 on 05/10/12 ... however, i have not filed it yet ...

I will be moving from Madison, WI to Green Bay, WI (both are in the Mil-waukee district office) in about a month because i got a new job in green bay. So here's my question .

Should I file my N400 now then do a change of address in a month? or should I just wait until I move to my new place and file the N400 after that?

i would rather file it now just to get it out of the way, but if the change of address will cause the case to be delayed or if it will cause any sort of problems, then i can wait.

    Your opinions are appreciated!

Well, if you will move in just a month, I would wait and file the application from Green Bay. Just my two cents from my own experience with USCIS and the address mix-up they did in my GC case.

Once you move to Green Bay, do not forget to update your address with the USCIS via the AR-11 form.

^^ thats what i was thinking too, so thank you!

speaking of the ar-11, I have moved 6 times in the past 5 years (im a college student) and I might have forgotten to submit one of my dorm address from 4 years ago. What should I do on the N400 form? should I report it anyway? or skip it?

      thanks again!

Report all addresses, even if you forgot to submit an AR-11 for them.

If you can wait, you might as well do so. I applied for citizenship and then changed my address, but even though they had the new address, I didn't receive the interview notice. When they faxed me the notice, the address was correct, so it might just have been a postal or CIS work-flow issue.
