File form n 400 - 90 days before

I understand that Form N 400 can be filed "90 calender days before we complete our Permanent Residence Requirement if your eligibility for Naturalization is based upon being a Permanent Resident for at least 5 years."
I would like to know that during these 90 days any processing of this Application be done. Do we get any communication from them during this time ?

Yes, you will likely get your biometrics notice, and if you're lucky, your interview letter during the first 90 days. Apply maybe 85 days before your 5 year anniversary to be safe though, because if CIS even THINKS you sent the application too early, it will be a very expensive rejection.
