J-2 visa holder with EAD eligible to fill out W-9 form?

Hello,

I have a J-2 visa and an EAD. I have a job offer but they ask me to fill out a W-9 form, where it states that it is only for US citizens or resident aliens. As far as I know I am a non-resident alien, but then If I google it I read that I might be a resident alien for tax purposes. I have been in the US since 2007 (F-2 until August 2012, J-2 after that date). Can I sign a W-9?
I am a little confused here. Please help.

Yes, you can definitely sign W-9 form and work on EAD. Any of the documents listed in W-9 form are acceptable forms of employment eligibility. Just look at list A, B, C in the form. In your case, EAD + any photo ID such as driver's license or passport should be enough.
