I am currently working in Jamaica, and I hold a B1/B2 Tourist Visa upto 2025.
I plan to go for a mini-residency program for 2 months ( Apr-May ) at University of Alabama for which I need to switch to J-1 visa.
1. Would I lose my B1 / B2 Visa once I switch to J-1 Visa?
2. I need to apply for a F-1 Visa for another program starting in July. Do I need to step out of the US and re-apply for an F-1 Visa and re-enter or is there any other way?
I don't want to lose my opportunity to study in July, and I will only have one month ( June ) to apply for the F-1 Visa and start the program in July.
I am very confused so please help me
